From Jimmy Smth:

Isobel Darroch was one the teachers who somehow managed to steer me through Lower then Higher Music. I particularly remember being with Miss Darroch, following the death of King George VI in 1952, to observe the two minutes' silence held throughout the UK. There were just the two of us in a small room at this poignant time.

In June 2011, my wife Vera and I lost a good friend, also a music teacher at Morgan. When I phoned Miss Darroch with the sad news, she told me that, on her arrival in Dundee following the bombing of her Greenock home, it was Kathleen Blackwood who welcomed and befriended her (this would have been at Grove), and they had remained friends ever since.

It's always sad to lose friends, no matter how long ago they passed away.
